BaneBranchen, in collaboration with Metro Service, invites students and employees from member companies to an exciting behind-the-scenes visit to the Cityringen Control and Maintenance Centre (CMC) at Vasbygade. The visit offers a unique opportunity to experience the operations of one of the world’s most advanced fully automated metro systems from the inside.
CMC serves as the central hub for traffic control, operations management, incident handling, and technical maintenance of the Cityringen, ensuring high operational reliability, safety, and passenger comfort across the network.
The programme begins with a welcome and an introduction to Metro Service, including an overview of the organisation’s role in operating the Copenhagen Metro and the technological and operational framework that supports safe, efficient, and robust operations.
This is followed by a presentation on the opportunities Metro Service offers engineering students, focusing on specific tasks, projects, and development programmes where students can contribute to and learn from work within critical infrastructure, automated transport systems, data-driven operations, cybersecurity, maintenance, and optimisation.
Participants will then be guided through the control room at CMC Vasbygade, gaining insight into daily train operations, real-time traffic management, incident response, and the close collaboration between operators, engineers, and emergency services.
The visit continues with a tour of the workshop and selected technical facilities, including an introduction to the maintenance of trains, tracks, and technical systems, as well as the methods and technologies used for preventive and predictive maintenance.
The programme concludes with networking and light refreshments in the canteen, providing an opportunity for informal dialogue with engineers, specialists, and management representatives from Metro Service.
The guided tour will be conducted in English if non-Danish-speaking participants attend.
There is space for a maximum of 40 participants. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration deadline is 4 March 2026.
The event is open exclusively to members of BaneBranchen and DTU students.
